CYSM is available to all players and is NOT a club. Tryouts for these international trips are available to any families who may be interested in experiencing soccer internationally.

Each international trip is unique in that we have relationships with professional clubs throughout Europe. We take great pride in the relationships we have built with some of the biggest names and clubs throughout Europe.

Testimonials

  • “My son and I took a chance with Carlos and went to Spain for soccer training in Marbella. It was an experience that we will not forget. The training, fields and culture that we experienced was like no other. I can say that it was the most memorable soccer experience that my son has ever had. I highly recommend this trip!”

    -Julie Garabo

  • ”The soccer camp in Salou, Spain has helped me to become a better player. During training coaches emphasized concepts such as supporting angles, proper touches on the ball, triangles, and creating numerical advantage. My “changing pace” skills have become almost automatic now because this camp provided many drills consisting on lots of repetitions. I would definitely recommend this camp to others because it helped me to sharpen my skills as a player, meet and play with foreign players, and experience Spanish culture.”

    -Mia F. (De Anza Force)

  • “The trip to Spain was absolutely amazing. The country itself is beautiful and just to be able to travel to that country and see different places was amazing. The soccer was even better. The training was tough, but really fun. I think as a player this helped me develop so much. It is a different style of play in Spain, and to learn that from both Spanish coaches and players, it made for a great experience. It was the trip of the lifetime, and i will never forget it!”

    -Nolan Garabo

  • “My experience in Spain was unique. It greatly helped my soccer skills and improved my tactics. The coaches and body staff where excellent and had a very high standard for the game of soccer. I wish to keep going and keep improving my soccer skills. There is no other experience like this one.”

  • Why does CALYSM travel overseas to train and to play soccer?

Our goal is to expose youth soccer players to different coaching methodologies, soccer concepts, ways to live and feel the game, competition, and ultimately expose them to the world. We want our players to learn new ideas about the game and also get different feedback from coaches they do not know. We want our players to be taken outside their comfort zone and be challenged by working with new coaches and training in a different atmosphere with foreign players who can challenge them and push them to become better players. Another important concept we really value is the bonding and camaraderie we want our players to create: long lasting relationships with their teammates, roommates, and other players attending the camp. Culturally, we want our players to get to know more about the world outside the US.

  • Who are the coaches training the players?

All coaches directing the training overseas are from the regions we travel to. We want our players to be exposed to different coaching styles and methodologies. Most of these coaches hold UEFA licenses, have had played at a high level, and currently work with recognized youth programs as well.

  • What are the ages to be able to participate?

Ages for our abroad programs are boys and girls primarily 10 to 18.

  • What are the benefits of your trips compared to doing summer camps and tournaments in the United States?

First, our summer camps take place in cities and countries where soccer is a tradition and part of the culture. We want our athletes to have a professional soccer experience from the moment they wake up to the moment they go to bed. Culturally, we want our participants to be exposed to different people and learn from other cultures. Youth soccer players attending our soccer camps will benefit compared to players attending camps held within the US from being exposed to different methodologies and coaches, get lots of international exposure, and learn about other regions in the world.

  • Can parents attend international trips?

We welcome all parents and family members interested in supporting the players while going abroad. Therefore, our goal is to make it enjoyable for the players as well as parents that travel with us. Most of our summer destinations are located along a beach so parents can enjoy a good weather while watching their kids train and compete.

  • Do you need chaperones?

Yes, having chaperones is a requirement every team must fulfill in order to participate in our abroad programs. Depending on the number of players per team we may have between 2-4 chaperones per team.

  • Are there other activities besides soccer included within your oversea programs?

Yes, we do offer extracurricular activities during our international soccer programs. Some of the activities may include tours to famous soccer stadiums, museums, historic places, theme parks, and the beach.

  • Do coaches that train our children in Spain speak English?

Some of these coaches will speak very good English, some decent English, and some no English at all. Nonetheless, we believe in soccer there is only one language, the “soccer ball”.
